we went up to my mom and step-dad's farm on saturday to celebrate my mom's b-day which was yesterday and mine which was today. i took all of my macro pics up there along with a few other photos that i just love. this is one of my favorites.

And now for the reason I missed a few days....my brother installed new flooring for us in our living room. The upstairs of our house was kinda turned upside down for the last 2 days. I can't show a picture of the entire room yet because it is still a mess but I will post one when it's all tidy.

Day 26 - March 21st, 2012

My boys enjoying some "clean painting". You squirt some paint into a ziploc bag and then tape it to the table (can place a piece of white paper under the bag if you have a dark table). I used 2 colors per bag and let them mush it around to see the color change.

After the storm has almost passed us we went outside to watch the lightening and then we came in for a summer time snack, seemed a rather fun way to end the day. (Can you tell which of my kid's is the goofy one? I'll give you a hint...it's the same one who tags my house with his beautiful art work, lol)

i scored a big pool off of ptg online last summer for super cheap. it's not pretty now but in a few more months this is where our pool will sit again, can't wait!

My 2 yr old, Jackson, likes to stack and balance random things. This one made me laugh this morning, such a weird thing to do.

My 2 and 4 year old boys riding bikes on our sidewalk, reached +15 today!

My 2 year old decided our tub was a good place to do some artwork. At least it was easier to wipe off than the entire art gallery he made in the living room a few months back.

This is one of the table and chair sets i built for a customer last summer. I love woodworking and turned it into a little business 2 years ago. It's driving me crazy that I haven't had time to work on anything since I had Emerson. I have to remind myself to be patient, I'll get back to it soon enough.

My husband and I bought our first ever new couch. We have been together for 12 years and have gone through a variety of used couches, finally we have something we can all fit on comfortably.

This is the Welcome sign that sits by my door. I usually put it away after Christmas but I'm going to leave it up till spring or so, I just like it too much to take it down.

Day 11 - March 6th, 2012

Today the nicest thing happened to my kids, my friend, and I. We were at the pancake house for lunch and a man who had been sitting by himself came over to us when he was about to leave. He made small chit chat about the kids and how raising kids is a hard but important job. Then he said he was paying for our lunch, he already had the bill in his hand. After he left a waitress came over to us with a small stuffed owl and said the man told her to give it to us. As he walked by the window we smiled and waved, as did he. What a random act of kindness. It was so strange and of course society tells us to question and doubt such acts and treat them as suspicious, which we did at first. But then it hit us, he was just a really nice man doing something sweet for us. I never want to forget it so I took this photo of the kids at the pancake house before we left.
Now it's my turn to pay it forward.

Day 10 - March 5th, 2012

This is my little buddy Scooter. He loves fresh fruits and veggies. His past times include squeaking when the fridge opens or when a bag rustles because he thinks it means he gets those fruits and veggies, as well as pushing his little hut around till it tips over. He enjoys short walks in the grass and being scratched under the chin.

Day 9 - March 4th, 2012

This is Sam. We have had him for 10 years now thanks to a friend of ours that found him in a BFI bin when he was just a baby. He sleeps between my husband and I, under the covers with his head on the pillow. He is the most loving cat that I have ever known. Oh, and he likes to play with dog toys, unless he gets caught, in which case he pretends he wasn't touching the toy at all.

It is a typical manitoba winter day here today. Blustery and snowy and cold. So today, I am in my happy place. This is a photo from Cancun, Mexico where my husband and I went for our honeymoon in 2006. Ahhhh, I can feel the warmth.
